  • by

Within the realm of games at casinos, few tables games evoke as much excitement and glamour as baccarat. It was a favorite game played by the Napoleonic French elites, before becoming more popular and gaining fame in the palatial casinos of Old Havana in the early 20th century.

Online Baccarat is one of the most sought-after games. The classic game continues to uphold its reputation for being an exciting game of luck that oozes old-world charm, perhaps assisted by the appearance of the game in many James Bond films.

When it comes to table layout, the only distinction is that the mini table is the smallest, the big table is the largest and the midi is halfway in between. The bigger the table, there will be more players, and the greater the capacity.

In mini baccarat, the games are played by the dealers and then shuffled between the shoes, similar to a game of บาคาร่าออนไลน์ played from shoes. In midi Baccarat, the player is not allowed to just touch the cards but might bend them and tear them as well. Each shoe is only used once, which is why the casino won’t be bothered. Once a shoe has been used and the casino has thrown the cards in the garbage and puts them into a new pre-shuffled shoe.

The cards are dealt out of a shoe consisting of seven decks. When you are seated and make your bets on the player, Banker, or Tie. Once betting is closed the banker will give two players and two to the banker. Both will be facing up.

From here, a win-lose-tie/third card outcome will occur depending on the criteria set out above. The player can bet on several outcomes, such as the player and the tie in the same hand. After the third card has been dealt on both sides, there should be a clear outcome.

It is important to keep in mind that one of the perks of Baccarat is the low house edge. If you bet with a Banker, there is 1.06%, while the edge for a Player bet is 1.24 percent. This is just a small fraction from the advantage that houses for games like roulette. This is the reason why the all-time classic game of cards such a popular choice among players of all levels.

How to play Baccarat in 5 Simple Steps

1. Players Place their Bets

You can choose to bet on Player, Banker or a Tie. You may also place bets in the side based on the kind of cards you see.

2. Two Hands are Dealt Face-Up

The dealer lays out two cards to the player hand, and two cards in the hand of the banker. All of the cards are open and visible to everyone. Regardless of how many players are present the table is only dealt and players cannot perform any actions during play.

3. If either hand has an 8 or 9 then the game is over

A score of 8 or 9 out of the two cards dealt can be referred to as a ‘Natural’. If Player or Banker hands have a value of 8 or 9 then the game is over with a winner either way or even a tie if both score the same.

4. Limit of one additional card is dealt out to each Hand in the event of a need

If a ‘Natural’ was not dealt, the hand continues. The dealer will first give a third card to player hand (if the player holds five or less points) and will then give another card to the Banker hand, based on the worth in both hands.

5. Hand Value Closest to 9 is the Winner.

The winner is the one that has the score closest to 9. If a player picked the correct outcome then the winnings are paid in 1:1 increments for a Player win 1:1, less 5% for a Banker’s win and 16:1 for a Tie. The odds for side bets vary between 1:1 and 200:1 based on the amount bet.

The Different Bets: Tie, Banker, Player

The most important thing to keep in mind before you play is there’s three major bets that you can make in a game of baccarat: Player, Banker, and Tie. It might be difficult at first, as the player (you) or the player (the house) are also the two players in any game of baccarat.

“Baccarat is like betting on the tossing of a coin.” Michael Shackleford says, “with the Banker and the Player being the two sides of the coin. There is also the possibility of a tie. Imagine a coin falling onto its edges – this is tied.”

This distinction is crucial to remember as, unlike the similar casino game of blackjack Baccarat allows players to play head-to-head with the house on either a win the banker (the player) or a win for the player.

The objective is to place a bet on whose hand will reach a total close to 9 (much like 21 is the number that makes the most sense in blackjack). To this end, you can wager on which hand of the player will be closest to 9 or the banker’s hand will be close, or whether the outcome is an even.

Additionally it is possible to make a number of other bets that could occur in a game of baccarat. The most well-known of these is the “Player Pair” and “Banker Pair” bets, in which you wager on a player who has a pair in their hand.
