Camping Essentials
These are the essentials, and everything you will need to make a camping trip a success.
A Tent is the first thing you need! There are many sizes available, so it is important to choose a tent that can sleep 1 or 2 more people than you actually need.
Tent pegs – You will receive some with your tent. Don’t forget them!
Camping gear: Sleeping bags for all. Even in summer, it can get quite cold at night.
Each person will need a sleeping mat, an air bed, or a camp bed. The best place to start is with airbeds.
Pillows are easy to forget but can make a big difference in a good night of sleep. Take your pillows with you if camping by car.
Camping Stove – To cook your meals. Make sure you have the right type of fuel.
Cooking Pans & Utensils
Cutlery
Water Carrier, or Jerry Can – so that you don’t need to go to the site tap everytime you need water.
Camping Chairs – The best way to unwind in the sun is on a comfortable folding chair or lounger.
Torch and Lantern to light the tent at night, as well as any night trips to the loo (battery packs are recommended). ).
Bin bags – to keep your tent tidy and clean.

To make your stay more enjoyable and comfortable, here are some ideas.
Tent Footprint: Protects your tent’s underside by adding a layer of soil between it and the ground.
Tent Porch – Many tents come with an extra porch, which can be purchased separately. You can also add additional space by adding a tarp or gazebo to your tent.
Tent Carpet – For extra warmth and luxury (and to soak up any spills!) ).
Camping Table – Great for late-night games and mealtimes
Electric Hook-up – If your pitch is powered by electricity, you will need to have a mobile mains cable to connect it.
Camping Toilet – This is ideal for those nights when you don’t feel like leaving the tent. This is especially useful for younger campers, who may not be able to get to the block in time.

Mallet – To help place the pegs, especially on stony terrain.
Duct Tape is a lifesaver for simple repairs that can be done quickly.

Brush – This will help to keep any debris from your tent and also clean the tent’s bottom before packing it away.
Penknife is a great tool, especially if it has pliers
Extra guyline or string- Used for binding, adding guylines in bad weather or as a wash line.
Camping Kitchen
Other than the above-mentioned essentials, you can also add additional items to your camping kitchen.
Gas for your stove, charcoal for your barbecue. You can purchase this on-site if you have a shop nearby, but it is better to bring your own to ensure safety.
Cleaning Equipment: Sponges, scrubbers, and a washing-up bowl are all very useful.
